The Ocean Buildings (also the “Oceanic” and the “Pearl” depending on the name of the insurance company in occupation) stands at the corner of Donegall Square East and Chichester Street. It was completed in 1902 and is built of pink sandstone. There are many carvings by JE Winter. This is one on the Donegall Sq East façade. They have survived quite well given the soft nature of the building material.
