The UK General Election 2015 was held on 7th May.

The election was won outright by the Conservative party with David Cameron as Prime Minister. The Conservatives won with a majority, having taken 331 of the 650 parliamentary seats.

Number of votes and seats for the largest four parties;
Conservatives 11.33m votes, 331 seats
Labour 9.34m votes, 232 seats
UK Independence Party 3.88m votes, 1 seat
Liberal Democrats 2.41m votes, 8 seats

The Scottish National Party took 56 seats having only 1.45m votes, becoming the 3rd largest party in parliament.
