Built c 1890 by W L Newcombe for the North British and Mercantile Assurance Company; subsequently a branch of the Midland Bank. An interesting Baroque building with a balustraded canopy over the entrance, a decorative balcony on the first floor, and a stone balustrade at eaves level. The building is Grade II listed Link
