Children's adventure playground on an island in Sale Water Park
Until 2005 the two island in Sale water Park were covered in dense vegetation and formed an important habitat for wildlife and wildfowl. Deckers, the company which operates Trafford Watersports Centre and manages the lake for Trafford Council caused controversy when they cleared vegetation from the islands and constructed the playgrounds without planning permission. The Ropes Adventure Course has now been demolished and the islands are a haven for wildfowl once more.
Supervised groups of children travel across the lake by boat.
