There has been a "Half Moon" building on this site since 1550. The current one is by Simpson, Lawson and Rayne, the architects responsible for Emerson Chambers in Blackett Street Link . It's in Art Nouveau style, and was built in 1902-05 for Arrol's of Alloa (Brewers).
