Arms on Cruickshank's Lodgings
Arms of George Cruickshank (Or, three boars' heads couped sable) impaling those of his wife, Barbara Hervie (or Harvey) of Elrick [Gules, a fesse (chequy?) or, between three mullets in chief and a mascle in base argent] above the archway to the courtyard of the A-listed Cruickshank's Lodgings (see: LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) ). The date 1655 may refer to their marriage or the building of the house. Blazons from Burke's General Armory (1884 edition).
