taken 11 years ago, near to Eglwys Cross, Wrexham/Wrecsam, Wales

Eglwys Cross Motte (Mount Cop Castle)
Eglwys Cross Motte (Mount Cop Castle)
Eglwys Cross Motte, or Mount Cop Castle would originally have been topped by a Norman wooden tower. Very little remains of the bailey which has been truncated by the A525 and earlier quarrying. There is an OS trig pillar on top of the motte.
