SN3010 : The south wall of Laugharne Castle

taken 4 years ago, near to Laugharne, Carmarthenshire/Sir Gaerfyrddin, Great Britain

The south wall of Laugharne Castle
The south wall of Laugharne Castle
The castle has had a long history of owners and alterations. At one time it became a Tudor mansion house. The wall in this shot formed part of the great hall in the house. Two large rectangular windows have been made to give a view of the boats coming and going in the harbour. Between these is a fireplace.
The stonework has survived but all the wood panelling is gone from the walls and recessed holes at the base level of the fireplace show where the beams of the raised floor would have been.
