Portsmouth Harbour station is in Portsmouth. It is situated beside Gunwharf Quays in the city's harbour, and is an important transport terminal, with a bus interchange and ferry services to Gosport and the Isle of Wight. The station currently has four platforms in use: numbered 1, 3, 4 and 5. It is managed by South West Trains. Platform 2 is no longer in use.
The station was built in 1876 on a pier made of wood, between the Gunwharf Quays shopping centre and the Historic Dockyard.
The Hard Interchange is a transport interchange in Portsmouth. It is located about a mile south-west from the city centre. It offers bus and coach transport, and the neighbouring Portsmouth Harbour Station provides trains to London, Cardiff and Brighton. It is a short walk from the Gunwharf Quays shopping and entertainment development.
There are also two passenger ferry services running from The Hard Interchange. A fast catamaran service operated by Wightlink travels to Ryde on the Isle of Wight, and the Gosport Ferry runs to Gosport.
