The Lowry Trail - point 3
The Lowry Trail - point 3
The artist WS Lowry (1887-1976) was a frequent visitor to Berwick. The Lowry Trail round the town commemorates this association and displays copies of many of his paintings of the area. This is point 3 on the Trail and shows "Berwick Pier and Lighthouse" a pencil drawing from 1956. In the drawing, Lowry has shown a large boat beyond the pier. The pier and a nearby breakwater can be seen both in the drawing and in reality.

The terraced houses along Pier Road can be seen to the left.
