Tynebottom Mine
The mine was worked by the Earl of Carlisle and Co. from 1771-98. Then by the London Lead Co. from 1798-1873; the total production was 11,529T of lead concentrates. The lead here was found in flats and extends into the hillside for some 1600ft.
