Roman camp on Mastiles Lane
Roman camp on Mastiles Lane
This was a temporary marching camp constructed by digging a ditch and rampart and topping it with stakes. The northern boundary can be seen as a ridge from the sheep on the left, passing above the sheep on the right. The southern boundary is over the wall which delineates Mastiles Lane.
