The sky sign over the entrance is a series of runes reading “krimsitir” which translates as Grimsetter, the local place name (information - Mike Pennington). Immediately outside the door is a monument commemorating Captain Fresson who pioneered the Orkney air services - see also HY4608 : Monument at Wideford Farm.
