End of the line at Alston Station
The water tower at the Alston station of the South Tynedale Railway was rebuilt in 2010. Constructed of welded steel sheet, it is used to re-water the steam engines running on the railway and has been placed on a stone-built building on the short platform adjacent to the run-round loop.
