Early on the morning of 12 May 2015 the historic railway station in Ballater was badly damaged by a major fire.
Firefighters did manage to save a replica of the railway carriage used by Queen Victoria in 1869 to travel between Windsor and Ballater. NO3695 : Ballater Station - reproduction of a Victorian railway saloon carriage
