'Caerphilly Castle' inside at the Didcot Railway Centre, 2001
A rear view SE inside the Shed, former GWR converted by the Great Western Railway Preservation Society into the major Didcot Railway Centre. The first of the celebrated 'Castles', No. 4073 had been built in 8/23 and ran on BR until 5/60, but it survived withdrawal to live a further long life in the National Collection. By 2001 it was in the care of the Great Western Railway Preservation Society at their Didcot Railway Centre. (See also SU5290 : 'Caerphilly Castle' inside the Shed at Didcot Railway Centre, 2001).
