TQ2880 : Connaught Hotel, Christmas Eve

taken 10 years ago, near to Marylebone, Westminster, England

Connaught Hotel, Christmas Eve
Connaught Hotel, Christmas Eve
At the outset of WW1, the hotel changed its name from "The Coburg" to that of Queen Victoria's third son, the Duke of Connaught, in order to avoid obvious German connotations whilst retaining its "C" logo.

It has a famous 2 star French chef, Helene Darroze, who maintains the hotel's impeccable culinary standards.

Many celebrities have stayed here - it was a favourite of Cary Grant, when in London - and is well known for its discretion and unobtrusive luxury.
