The three tiered pulpit in rich cherry wood is unusual. The top level was for the preacher, Bible readings were delivered from the middle, and the lower level was where the clerk sat. The whole is crowned by a beautifully carved sounding board designed to amplify voices. All is set within this tastefully decorated high domed Palladian style chapel by the local architect James Payne.
