Bombardier CS300 (C-FFDK) arriving at Belfast City Airport. The aircraft (described in this link LinkExternal link ), will be in competition with the Airbus A320 Link was arriving after attending the Paris Air Show. The following is a part-quotation from the official Bombardier press release ““Bombardier arrives at the Paris Air Show at a very exciting time as we debut our CSeries family of aircraft,” said Fred Cromer, President, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft. “We are proud to present the first all-new designed, single-aisle aircraft that the industry has seen in over 25 years. Bombardier’s ingenuity and investment in both our business and customer relationships will be available for everyone to witness at this air show.” The CS300 aircraft will visit Bombardier’s Belfast facility in Northern Ireland on June 19, where Bombardier’s employees and partners eagerly await the arrival of the first CS300 aircraft – it will be the first time the CSeries aircraft and its Belfast-produced wing will fly on site.” J3676 : Bombardier CS300 (C-FFDK), George Best Belfast City Airport - June 2015(2) shows the welcoming ceremony.

Originally opened in 1937 when it was built as part of the Short Brothers and Harland Limited aircraft factory. The present airport opened to scheduled passenger flights in 1983 as Belfast Harbour Airport. The terminal buildings were temporary ones – later extended and improved. The present terminal, close to the Sydenham bypass, opened in 2001.

Flybe to Aberdeen, Birmingham, Cardiff, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Exeter and Newquay, Glasgow, Inverness, Leeds/Bradford, Liverpool, London City, Manchester, Doncaster/Sheffield and Southampton.
KLM to Amsterdam.
Loganair to Carlisle.

The airport is also used by a variety of operators for business and medical flights.
