Dyer's Rocket at Shawfair
Dyer's Rocket at Shawfair
Also known as Weld [Reseda luteola], this is a common weed of disturbed ground but local in the north. Here it was growing in abundance by the groundworks for the Borders Railway at Shawfair. It was originally cultivated for a dye that coloured textiles yellow. It is related to Wild Mignonette, which is similar but has lobed leaves.
