Old Railway Station, Halifax
Old Railway Station, Halifax
Grade II Listed 1855 station building converted into office space and nursery for the adjacent Eureka! national children's museum in whose grounds it now stands. It was restored with funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Clore Duffield Foundation, winning the National Railway Heritage Trust Award in 2001.

It is approximately 200m west of the current station and was designed by Thomas Butterworth. From 1890 the station was known as Halifax Old Station, to distinguish it from Halifax St. Paul's and Halifax North Bridge stations. In 1951 the name was changed again to Halifax Town, and in 1961 it reverted to Halifax.
