Beggar's Bridge over the River Esk
Beggar's Bridge over the River Esk
A grade II* packhorse bridge, now used by pedestrians only. Linked with the legend of Tom Ferris, who could not have a farewell kiss from his beloved because the river was in spate, so with the fortune that he made at sea, he built the bridge so no other lovers should be kept apart for the same reason
