No. 1338, a survivor of 36 locomotives acquired by the GWR from the Cardiff Railway in 1922, was built in 1898 and withdrawn in 9/63, but preserved, for over 20 years on a plinth at the former Bleadon & Uphill station in Somerset until 1987, when it came to the Didcot Railway Centre. (It seems perhaps that Granddad is telling Little Jimmy how he used to drive the engine).
