This is a 5 storey tower enclosed by a small rectangular bawn that had four D-shaped flankers at the corners, just one of which now survives, along with a section of the original bawn wall to the right (that on the left is not original). The castle was held by Hugh Wall in 1583, and then by the Stephensons of Dunmoylin from 1615 until the Cromwellian confiscations of 1655.
