taken 9 years ago, near to Charlestown, Highland, Scotland
Railway track at Clachnaharry, Inverness
Although the railway tracks end abruptly here, they are still in use. The railway crosses the Caledonian Canal here, on a swing bridge. The railway is Scotland's Far North Line.
In this image the bridge was open, an indication that no trains were due to pass. When a train is due, the bridge will swing closed to enable the train to cross.
