This is a four storey late-C16 castle of the O'Carrolls partially enclosed by a loopholed bawn wall that still survives on the SW and SE sides. The tower has circular bartizans with small rooms on the SW and NE corners at the fourth storey level, and from the entrance in the east wall, a straight stair rises up to a spiral stair in the NW corner. The second storey has a latrine, and there is a fireplace on the east side on the third storey.
