Valley of the West Glen River south of Careby, from the railway
The East Coast Main Line climbs away from the Fens up the valley of the West Glen River in southern Lincolnshire. It was along this stretch of line, descending southbound, that the "Mallard" A4 locomotive set the world speed record for a steam locomotive.
On the horizon is Careby Wood.
