After the harvest comes the ploughing followed by harrowing and rolling, each operation accompanied by flocks of seagulls that quickly congregate to feed on the grubs and worms thrown up in the freshly turned soil such as here between the north of Bourne and Dyke village, even though the sea is well over twenty miles away.
