Lover's Stone
Lover's Stone
The Lover's Stone is a slab of rock protruding from the cliffs above a drop of almost 300m. The story is that the young men of St Kilda used it to prove their worth as cliff climbers and bird hunters.

Before being allowed to marry, they had to balance on one foot at the end of the rock, raise their other foot and lean forward to clasp it.

Just walking out to the end is enough for most these days!
