Old Radnor Hill - but for how much longer?
Gore Quarry extends across the larger part of Old Radnor Hill, seen here from Stanner Rocks, just over half a mile to its east. The object of the quarrying is the micaceous green-grey sandstone of Ediacaran ie late Precambrian age known formally as the Strinds Formation. In the foreground are outcrops of similarly aged granophyric granite.
