SH3393 : Shingle beach and lagoon, Cemlyn Bay

taken 7 years ago, near to Llanfairynghornwy, Isle of Anglesey/Sir Ynys Mon, Great Britain

Shingle beach and lagoon, Cemlyn Bay
Shingle beach and lagoon, Cemlyn Bay
The lagoon was formed by construction of a weir, out of picture to the right. Originally it was salt marsh.
The mist is down on Mynydd y Garn in the background.
Sea kale is in flower on the shingle. The islands in the lagoon host nesting terns and a few gulls. At this time, there is a steady stream of adult birds bringing food for their chicks.
