The boat is an exhibit by Amy McCarthy on the sea front as part of the TRAIL (Teignmouth Recycled Art In the Landscape) art exhibition LinkExternal link in 2015.
In the distance you can see The Ness and the channel that leads into Teignmouth Harbour.

This sculpture was inspired by watching the big ships swing round The Point and drop their stone, clay and goods in Teignmouth Port. Once the river and port were teaming with boats sailing up and down the estuary transporting their ware but now most everything is transported by road, which is a shame because boats have less impact on the environment than land haulage.
Made with the old boards and rubble from my recently restored old roof and waste slate from a friend's recent new floor!
