Looking out over modern housing just this side of the River Kennet. The A4, once the main route between London and the west is visible at the right of the image.

Some churches allow occasional public access to their tower roofs. These provide exceptional opportunities to obtain views that are usually impossible to capture, and sometimes enable one to see buildings that are hidden from view at ground level. They always provide a fascinating and different perspective on otherwise unremarkable places.
