Hi there
TQ4800I am seeking information on the history of Gun Hill a road that leads to South Hill Barn in Seaford. I know this road was extensivelly used by the military in the 2nd World War.
It has been used by the public since then as access to South Hill Barn on Seaford Head.
Is this road designated as a public right of way?. Who owns it. Before housing was built in this area, Chyngton Way (the road that leads to Gun Hill) gave access to Chyngton Farm. Now that housing has been built on the length of Chyngton Way, is Gun Hill now taken as part of this road?.
I would like to add that Gun Hill is known to old Sefordians as "The White Road".
I would like to give my thanks to anybody who can help me.
Bill
