Detail above the entrance to Bank Chambers SJ8990 : Entrance to Bank Chambers.
The date above the coat of arms is 1836 although the building was not built until 1868. Maybe that is the date of the formation of the original Bank of Stockport. Anyone know?

confirm that the Bank of Stockport was formed in 1836 so presumably the coat of arms is that of the bank.
