NY1700 : Trackbed of the Gill Force branch, Eskdale
taken 4 years ago, near to Beckfoot, Cumbria, Great Britain

Trackbed of the Gill Force branch, Eskdale
Beyond the gate is the trackbed of a branch off the original, 3 foot gauge, Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway, built to serve the iron mines at Gill Force. The northernmost part of the branch is used by the current, 15in gauge railway, while the southern end is a footpath; this section, however, is somewhat overgrown and on private land, and appears to be used for access to the fields either side.
