Cross House, Westgate Road, Newcastle
Cross House, Westgate Road, Newcastle
Wedged between Westgate Road and Fenkle Street by Cackett & Burns Dick, 1911. Its skin of Portland stone (not that common in Newcastle) conceals a reinforced concrete skeleton made using the Hennebique method.
The proclamatory figure in front is Joseph Cowen M.P. (1906, by John Tweed). Grade II listed.
