The Jaguar Heritage Trust display area, created in July 2012 houses a collection of ten vehicles representing some of Jaguar’s sports and racing cars. The vehicles are owned by the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust and were transferred from Jaguar Heritage Trust’s former museum at Browns Lane, Coventry prior to its closure.

The XJ40 was launched at the motor Show in 1986. This particular car was a pre-production model built in June 1985 to German specification (left hand drive). It was loaned to the Silverstone Racing Circuit for use as a high-speed fire tender.
The British Motor Museum (Heritage Motor Centre)

The Heritage Motor Centre (now re-named as the British Motor Museum) is a motor museum and research centre, located adjacent to the Jaguar Land Rover Gaydon Centre near Gaydon in Warwickshire. The centre is open to the public, and houses a collection of important vehicles, celebrating Britain's motoring heritage. It boasts the world’s largest collection of British Cars; nearly 300 cars in its collection which span the classic, vintage and veteran eras (LinkExternal link pdf list of vehicles in the collection).

The collection, now cared for by the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust, is housed in a spectacular, purpose-built museum which opened in 1993. The building, with its art deco design is on the site of the former RAF Gaydon airfield in South Warwickshire, which was home to the Rover Group's design, technology and testing ground.
