Remains of the Archbishop's palace in York
Remains of the Archbishop's palace in York
Listed grade 1 (list entry number 1257919); the listing describes it as "Arcade of the Palace of Archbishop Roger de Pont l'Eveque; now War Memorial to the Second Division." The latter phrase explains the poppy wreaths in the photo. The whole of the Minster Precincts of which this forms part are a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
