NZ6809 : Old quarry at the moor edge

taken 3 years ago, near to Castleton, North Yorkshire, Great Britain

Old quarry at the moor edge
Old quarry at the moor edge
One of several disused quarries on the moor edge to the north of Castleton. There is no sign here of decent quality stone, whilst a search of old OS 6" maps reveals another nearby as a silica quarry, so one assumes this one was for the same purpose.
