Mostyn Gallery
Mostyn Gallery
The Oriel Mostyn Gallery was built in 1902 to house the extensive art collection assembled by Lady Augusta Mostyn; the gallery is believed to be the first in the world built to display the work of female artists. By 1914 the gallery was empty and was requisitioned for use as an army drill hall. It was used for storage and warehousing until 1979 when it re-opened as an art gallery presenting occasional public exhibitions. It has since been revamped again and was renamed simply "Mostyn" in 2010. Gallery website: LinkExternal link
