Detritus inside Gamekeeper's Tower, Capernwray
Detritus inside Gamekeeper's Tower, Capernwray
Part of a wooden frame which would have adorned one of the arch-shaped windows lies among fallen masonry, roof beams and other debris inside the tower. Cans and burnt material suggest use as a some-time drinking den. The interior of the tower is completely gutted and appears to be deteriorating rapidly from a combination of vandalism and the elements. The tower is Grade II listed LinkExternal link but appears to be going to the dogs - what a sad fate.
