Etive Bridge on the A82 Glen Coe
Category B Listed bridge built in 1931-2 to a design by James McGregor, Lewis R Sutherland and W H Hunt, engineers. From the experimental period of reinforced concrete this is one of a pair of bridges on the A82 and has a span of 99ft (30.5m). R Paxton and J Shipway writing in 2007 attribute the building of the Etive bridge to W. Tawse Ltd at a cost of £3,352. This bridge replaced the General Caulfeild bridge built 1751-2 on the old military road by the Kings House Hotel. The old bridge also Category B Listed is only open to foot traffic now.
A82 Road

The A82 is a trunk road in Scotland. It is the principal route from Lowland Scotland to the western Scottish Highlands, running from Glasgow to Inverness, going by Loch Lomond, Glen Coe, Fort William and the Great Glen. It is 167 miles long.

River Etive

The River Etive rises on Rannoch Moor and flows SW through Glen Etive to join Loch Etive.
The River is one of Scotland's most popular and challenging white water kayaking runs. It provides a multitude of solid Grade 4(5) rapids with a variety of falls and pool drops.
