Armstrong Bridge, Newcastle
Armstrong Bridge, Newcastle
Crossing Ouse Burn in Jesmond Dene. A unique structure due, among other reasons, to its slider bearings designed to compensate for movement arising from mining subsidence and heat. Restored in the 1980s. By W.G. Armstrong & Co, 1876-78. Grade II listed.
