Burial chamber, Coldrum long barrow, Trottiscliffe
This was originally covered by a rectangular mound of earth, but has gone and the chamber is now perched high up on a hill. The remains of 22 people of the Neolithic period were extracted from it in 1912. People have attached strips of cloth and plastic to the trees on the edge of the barrow, reminding me of the 'holy' wells in Cornwall.
