Bamburgh Castle, Northumberland
Bamburgh Castle, Northumberland
Early November, late afternoon; shadows starting to creep across the ramparts of Bamburgh Castle.
Built on a dolerite outcrop of rock, the first written reference to the castle was in 547. Low tide shows the rock formations on the beach.
