Memorial to Derek Ratcliffe
Derek Almey Ratcliffe (1929-2005) was an eminent naturalist and conservationist, holding the position of Chief Scientist at the Nature Conservancy Council from 1973 to 1989. He went to school in Carlisle, the memorial inscription tells us that Finglandrigg was one of his favourite places.
