Claymills Victorian Pumping Station - boiler house
Claymills Victorian Pumping Station - boiler house
This shows the three unrestored Lancashire boilers. These were the second generation of boilers and built in 1937 by John Thompson of Wolverhampton. They are fitted with mechanical sprinkler stokers. However these are hardly 'labour saving' as the coal has to be shovelled into hoppers above head height.
