Clifton Hampden Bridge
What brickwork! Even under the arches. This bridge was designed by George Gilbert Scott, and erected in 1864: such detail is normally found only on Brunel's railway bridges.
Unfortunately this bridge is now on a major 'rat-run' north of Didcot. As it is 'single-track' for about 200 metres, it is controlled by traffic lights - but of course passage is still slow at busy times. It is also quite hazardous for walkers on the Thames Path, who have to cross it.
