Four Patron Saints by Kempe, 1881.

St Patrick, St Michael, St George and St Columba, below scenes from their lives, Patrick preaching, Michael slaying the Devil, George and the Dragon and The Arms of the Thackwell family, as the window is in memory of Lt Gen Sir Joseph Thackwell, d.1859 a "brave and dashing officer" who fought in Waterloo.
Gloucester Cathedral
The Cathedral originated in 678 or 679 with the foundation of an abbey dedicated to Saint Peter. The foundations of the present church were laid by Abbot Serlo (10721104). LinkExternal link
